Small matki dal, or moth bean (Vigna aconitifolia), is a tiny, nutrient-dense legume known for its brown skin, cream-colored interior, and nutty flavor. A powerhouse of protein () and fiber, this legume is commonly sprouted or used in Maharashtrian cuisine (such as Matki Usal). It is frequently sold as whole, brown-skinned beans.
